Yes. You will receive a probationary firefighter salary while attending the academy. All training and equipment costs are covered by the District.

The only requirements are valid CPAT, driver’s license, and DD214 if applicable. No other attachments are required and they will not be considered.
Yes, the service 2 is a valid, officially recognized substitute.
We can accept an active duty letter in lieu of the DD214.
An entry-level applicant who meets the requirement for a lateral position may be hired with lateral pay at step 2, but will still go through the entry level academy with the class.

The CPAT must be less than 12 months old as of the date of application. If you apply on or after the date it expires, you will need a new one. If you apply before that date, it is still valid.
For this position, the CPAT and Veteran’s Preference documentation (if applicable) are the only documents that must be uploaded at the time of application.
Central Pierce Fire & Rescue is holding our own recruitment. We are not contracted with National Testing Network (NTN) for the purpose of recruitment and we do not use NTN for testing . You should be able to schedule and take the CPAT through them as an individual without being affiliated with any specific department. Public Safety Testing is another option.
Yes. You must submit a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certification with your application. The certification must be less than 12 months old.

No, we do our own testing. You will apply directly with us if you are interested.
We do our own testing and do not accept other test results.
We are unable to offer alternative dates.
Once you apply, and assuming you pass the minimum qualification review, you will receive an email confirming that you qualify to sit for the written exam. That email will include an attachment explaining the test, including how to schedule and a study guide.
No. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue administers its own online exam at no cost. We do not accept written test results from other agencies.
