A big thank you to FOX 13 Seattle for visiting Station 96 and helping us share the story of our goats, wildfire awareness, and defensible space.
Since 2016, the goats at Station 96 have helped maintain our retention pond area while becoming a beloved part of our station family and community.
During Wildfire Awareness Month, they also serve as a fun reminder that managing vegetation matters. Creating defensible space around your home by clearing brush, reducing fuels, and maintaining your property can help lower wildfire risk.
We appreciate FOX 13 for helping us spotlight preparedness, prevention, and a few of our cutest station residents.

Heads up - Starting tomorrow and over the coming weeks, you may see or hear Washington National Guard helicopters training near the Lipoma Firs, Sunrise, and Daybreak neighborhoods on May 7, 14, 21, 28, and June 4 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
This joint training helps our firefighters and National Guard partners strengthen ground-to-air communication, coordinate aerial bucket drops, and improve readiness for wildfire suppression operations.
Training like this ensures faster, safer, and more coordinated response during wildfire season.
Important Safety Note: Do NOT fly drones during training operations or during any wildfire suppression operations. Unauthorized drones pose a serious safety hazard. If a drone is spotted, helicopter operations have to immediately stop. ... See MoreSee Less
