Board of Commissioners

The Board of Commissioners is the legislative body of Central Pierce Fire & Rescue as authorized and created under Title 52 RCW. The Board is comprised of 15 commissioners from the three legacy fire districts. Commissioners who are elected by the public serve six-year terms and represent the citizens of the district in at-large positions.

Board responsibilities include:

• Manage and conduct the business affairs of the fire district
• Provide administrative oversight
• Define the long‐term vision for the District
• Determine type and level of funding and tax levies
• Determine levels of service and establish goals
• Approve the annual budget
• Employ and supervise the Fire Chief
• Attend monthly board meetings

The District’s Commissioners are active members of the Washington State Fire Commissioners Association. Commissioners represent the Fire District at community events and also attend various events sponsored by the District.
